We met Primoz Zorko about 4 years ago. We’d say that he’s a person that enjoys meeting people and that was reason he emailed us before traveling to Barcelona for a short holidays trip, to get in touch with us and see if we could meet each other. I remember it was a Saturday when we met for first time in our old headquarters in La Barcelona. Since then, we’ve kept a friendly relationship, sharing interests and the desire to catch more waves than the scarce ones we get either in waveless Barcelona or in a country without waves as Slovenia, where Primoz lives and works.
During these years we have been following Primoz Zorko’s work and it really interest us the way he uses both, Iphone-made or analog photography, as a medium to observe, explore and learn about the world. We like the way he’ always trying to find new perspectives, realizing and consenting to the possibilities of multiple and multilayered realities.
When we proposed him to do a photo collaboration with Firmamento, he was decided to focus the work on his personal surfing life, which is based on checking out forecasts, experiencing surfing through googling surf stories and daydreaming and fantasizing about surfing in distant places where waves are, as a result of living away from the Ocean.
Primoz works through combining different kind of pictures to generate a new one in which his manipulation is deliberately displayed as a personal language and essential part of this project.
